2 lbs. Ground Beef (80/20)
1 lbs. Ground Chicken
1lbs. Fresh Chicken Liver
8-10 oz. Fresh Spinach
1 Medium Size Sweet Potato
1 Medium Zucchini
2 Large Carrots
1 Apple (cored)
1/2 c. Blueberries
2 Eggs, lightly beaten
2/3 C. Oats
2 Teaspoons Freshly Ground Eggshell (1/2 tsp per lb of meat)
4 Teaspoons Kelp Powder
1-2 Teaspoons Ground Ginger (optional)
1-2 Teaspoons Turmeric (optional)
Cook chicken livers in boiling water for 6-7 minutes. Allow to cool. In large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, eggshell, kelp powder, salt, turmeric and blueberries. Chop chicken livers, add to ground beef mixture. Peel sweet potato. Wash and dry spinach, pull stems off. Shred spinach, sweet potato, zucchini, carrots and apple in Cuisinart (or whatever works for you!). Combine shredded vegetables with meat mixture by hand, mix well. Add eggs and oats, mix well. Place in greased loaf pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 ½ hours. Allow 20 minutes to cool before slicing. Allow to cool completely before wrapping and freezing. Makes 2 in 9x5x3 loaf pans.
Change things up, combine meats sometimes.

Freshly Ground Eggshells
Simple to make and keep, they provide the calcium your dog needs. As you use eggs in your household, give the shells a quick rinse under cool water, set to dry on a paper towel. Let a few stack up, then grind them in a coffee bean grinder reserved only for eggshells. Put the finely ground shells into a Tupperware container for storage. They should be used in a ratio of 1 teaspoon per pound of meat.

Kelp Powder
I order online at Seaveg.com. You can also find it in some grocery stores. It seems expensive, about $20-35/lb., however, you only use 1 teaspoon per pound of meat, so that 1 pound bag lasts awhile. Kelp Powder Nutritional Info.
Chia Seeds
Great source of Omega 3 and fiber. There’s no odor, unlike Salmon oil! Find Chia Seeds in most grocery stores, just about any health food store.
How I feed an active large breed dog, (65-80lbs):
- 8-10AM and 7-9PM
- Each meal consists of:
- One slice of meatloaf (12-14 oz.)
- 2 eggs (scrambled)
- 1 chicken breast or fish (3-6 oz.)
- 1 Teaspoon Chia Seeds
How I feed a small breed dog, (8-10lbs):
- 8-10AM and 7-9PM
- Each meal consists of:
- 1 Tablespoon of eggs
- 2 Tablespoons of Meatloaf
- 1 Teaspoon Chia Seeds
I also add any leftovers that I have in the fridge that suitable, no more than tablespoon or two, at the most. I stay away from heavily seasoned foods, anything with lots of added butter or salt. I sometimes supplement with Chicken and Apple sausages, half a sausage per meal, or roasted chicken. Always check with your veterinarian before changing your dogs food.
